All About Quadrilaterals

How many properties can you identify in regards to quadrilaterals? Use your vocabulary to help you.....diagonals, triangulating, congruent, parallel, intersecting, angles, adjacent, supplementary, opposite, sides, perpendicular, etc....

I have come up with only 15 properties of quadrilaterals.....How many of you can beat me?

Properties Of Quadrilaterals-

#1- All quadrilaterals have "TWO DIAGONALS".

#2 & #3- All quadrilaterals can be "TRIANGULATED" into two "Triangles".

#4, #5, & #6- Some "SIDES" and "ANGLES" of quadrilaterals are "CONGRUENT", others are not congruent.

#7- In some quadrilaterals there is at least 1 pair of "PARALLEL" sides.

#8- Some quadrilaterals have "INTERSECTING DIAGNALS".

#9 & #10- Quadrilaterals have "ADJACENT ANGLES" and "NON-ADJACENT ANGLES".

#11- Some quadrilaterals have "PERPENDICULAR ANGLES" such as squares and rhombuses.

#12- All quadrilaterals have "SUPPLEMENTARY ANGLES".

#13 & #14- The "MEASUREMENTS" of all quadrilaterals is "360 DEGREES".

#15 & #16- In all quadrilaterals there are "OPPOSITES". They could be parallel or "NON-PARALLEL".

#17 & #18- The "SUM" of all angles in a quadrilateral is "360 DEGREES".

#1,#20, & #21- The measurement of the "INTERIOR ANGLES", if the "POLYGON" is "REGULAR", is "90 DEGREES".

#22- There are "FOUR EXTERIOR ANGLES" in a quadrilateral.

#23- Quadrilaterals have "FOUR LINE SEGMENTS".

#24,#25,#26,#27,& #28- A regular quadrilateral can be a "PARALLELOGRAM","TRAPEZOID"
, "RECTANGLE", "RHOMBUS, and/or a "SQUARE".

2. A line segment drawn from one vertex of a quadrilateral to the opposite vertex is called a diagonal of the quadrilateral.
3. There are seven types of quadrilaterals that can be divided into two groups: parallelograms and other quadrilaterals.
4. Quadrilaterals are called parallelograms if both pairs of opposite sides are equal and parallel to each other.
5. Opposite sides of a parallelogram are parallel and equal in length.
6. Opposite sides of a rectangle are parallel and equal in length
7. Opposite sides of a square are parallel and all sides are equal in length.
8. All sides of a rhombus are equal in length
9. A trapezium has one pair of opposite sides parallel.
10. Two pairs of adjacent sides of a kite are equal in length.
11. An irregular quadrilateral does not have any special properties.

well properties of quadrilaterals

1. all quadrilaterals have 4 sides

2. all quadrilaterals equal up to 360 degrees.

3. all quadrilaterals have four angles

4. all quadrilaterals can be concave or convex

5. all quadrilaterals can only have 1 diagonal expanding from each vertex.

6. each vertex has two adjacent side conected.

7. each diagonal in a quadrilateral intersects with the other diagonal

8. a quadrilateral can only be triangluated into two triangles.

Quadrilaterals have 1.4 sides, 2.4andles and 3.4 vertices. The sum of the interior angles is 4.360%. Quadrilaterals have 5.2 triangles formed after diagonalizing them. The sum of 1 angle of a regular quadrilateral is 6.90%. quadrilaterals have 7.1 diagonal coming from each angle. The formula for diagonalizing and finding diagonals extending from each angle would be 8.(4-3)x 4 divided by 2. The side lengths of a square are all 9.congruent. The angle measures are all 10.congruent. The diagonals could be 11.perpendicular or 11.intersecting. The diagonal properties can be 12.congruent or 13.non-congruent. The diagonals of a quadrilateral are 14.longer in some quadrilaterals and 15.congruant in some other quadrilaterals. Some quadrilaterals are 16.parallelograms.
